My Life RN is made by Derik, an ED nurse. This page says exactly what the app keeps, who can see it, and how to take it with you or delete it.

Draft. This page is written in plain language and describes how the app works today. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer yet and may change before launch.
The short version
- We keep only what you add, so the app can work for you.
- Coworkers see your shift times, only after you both connect and you turn sharing on.
- No ads, no selling data, no third-party trackers.
- Not for patient information. Please keep PHI out.
- Download or delete everything from Me → Your data, any time.
1.What we keep
Only what you put in, so the app can work. Specifically:
- Account. Your name, email, and password. The password is stored only as a salted scrypt hash, so nobody (including us) can read it.
- Phone number, only if you add one for text reminders.
- Cert vault. Card and license names, issuers, dates, license numbers and states, CE hours, verification links, and any photo or PDF of a card you upload.
- Calendar. Shifts and events you add or import, shift presets, calendar links you subscribe to, and your time zone.
- Unit schedules you import. These can include coworkers' names and shift codes exactly as they appear on the sheet. They stay in your account and only you can see them.
- Workplaces and My Unit. Hospital and unit names, tags, and the shared unit phone list and hospital notes (see section 3).
- Pay. Rates, differentials, shifts you log, and pay stub totals you enter for comparison.
- Self-care. Sleep times, mood check-ins, and your sleep goal.
- Coworker links and swap requests you send or accept.
We also keep a login cookie so you stay signed in. Your theme choice and a few “don't show this again” flags are saved in your own browser, not on our servers. Our hosting provider keeps standard request logs (like IP address and browser type) to run and protect the service.
2.No patient information, please
My Life RN is for yourlife as a nurse, not your patients. It is not built or certified to hold protected health information, and it is not covered by HIPAA. Please don't type patient names, room numbers, or anything clinical about a patient into notes, events, or any other field.
Your own sleep and mood entries are personal wellness notes. They are private to you and are never shared with coworkers or employers.
4.Services we use
We use a few companies to run the app. They process data only to provide their service to us:
- Vercel hosts the app and stores uploaded card photos and PDFs privately.
- Neon hosts the database.
- Resend delivers email, like password resets and (when you turn them on) reminders.
When you scan a card's QR code or subscribe to a calendar link, the app fetches that page or calendar from the issuer's or scheduler's site on your behalf.
We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we do not use third-party analytics or ad trackers.
5.Download or delete everything
Go to Me → Your data. You can download everything we keep about you as one file, or delete your account. Deleting removes your account, vault (including uploaded files), calendar, pay, self-care, workplaces, coworker links and swap requests right away. My Unit entries you added that others now rely on stay with the unit but are no longer linked to you.
Database backups kept by our hosting provider can hold a copy for a short time until they roll off.
6.How we protect it
- Everything travels over HTTPS.
- Passwords are hashed. Sign-in cookies can't be read by scripts on the page.
- Uploaded files are private and only open for you while you are signed in.
- Sign-in, sign-up, password reset, and coworker invites are rate limited to slow down guessing.
- A password reset email never confirms whether an account exists.
7.Emails and reminders
We email you for password resets. Renewal and shift reminders are emailed only if you turn them on, and you can turn them off in Reminders. We don't send marketing email.
8.Who it's for
My Life RN is for working adults (18 and older). It isn't meant for children.
9.Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top shows the last edit.
A contact address for privacy questions will be listed here before launch.
